Emirates introduces Airbus A350 and Premium Economy service in Oslo
Dubai-based carrier expands luxury travel options for Norwegian passengers
DUBAI – Emirates has unveiled a major milestone in its Scandinavian operations with the launch of its Airbus A350 service to Oslo, introducing its acclaimed Premium Economy cabin to Norway for the first time.
The occasion was marked by a celebration at Oslo Airport, attended by dignitaries, airline executives, and members of the media, highlighting Emirates’ growing investment in the Norwegian market.
The celebration welcomed travel agency partners, aviation industry stakeholders, and media representatives. After the aircraft’s arrival, guests toured the new A350 and explored its Premium Economy cabin on a static display, marking the beginning of Emirates’ next era of Scandinavian air travel excellence.
The airline’s new A350 marks a fresh chapter in its commitment to enhancing passenger experience and connectivity across the region. Featuring Emirates’ latest cabin designs, the aircraft showcases upgraded interiors in Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Classes – each redefined with state-of-the-art amenities, modern aesthetics, and a focus on passenger comfort.
What makes it special
Since launching its daily Dubai–Oslo service in 2014, Emirates has become a preferred choice for travellers linking Norway to the UAE and its vast global network. The A350 introduction strengthens this connection, offering travellers an elevated onboard experience while connecting to 145 destinations worldwide, including Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Australia.
At the launch event, Emirates’ senior executives, including Pierfrancesco Carino, Vice President Commercial Operations North and West Europe, and Terje Grue, Country Manager Norway, joined Majid Al Matrooshi from the UAE Embassy in Norway, Ståle Lien Hansen, Mayor of Ullensaker Municipality, and Dorothy Billett, Senior Vice President Terminal Operations at Avinor.
Terje Grue said: “We are thrilled to bring the A350 and our Premium Economy product to Norway. This is an important step in strengthening our presence in the market. Travellers from Oslo will now enjoy an entirely new level of comfort, whether flying to Dubai or onwards to our many destinations across Asia, Africa, and Australia.”
How Premium Economy stands out
Emirates’ Premium Economy offers a near-Business Class experience at greater accessibility. The 40-inch seat pitch, 8-inch recline, adjustable headrests, and full leg and footrests ensure superior comfort. The seats, finished in cream leather, include fold-out woodgrain tables, in-seat charging, a 13.3-inch TV screen, a side cocktail table, and an amenity kit available on select flights.
Passengers can also enjoy a glass of Chandon Vintage Brut 2017 – served exclusively onboard Emirates – alongside a menu of international cuisine.
